How can I join the choir?To join the choir, simply fill out the registration form on our website or contact us directly through our contact page. We welcome all new members!

What type of music does the choir perform?Our choir performs a variety of Gospel music, including traditional hymns, contemporary Gospel songs, and original compositions.

Do I need to have prior singing experience?No prior singing experience is required. We welcome singers of all skill levels and provide support to help you improve.

I don't read music. Can I still join?Yes. We will teach you everything that you need to know. Also, we have recordings for all the parts for all the songs so you can memorize the songs.

Are there any auditions required to join the choir?No, we do not require auditions to join the choir. We believe in inclusivity and welcome everyone who loves to sing.

Who can join the choir?Anyone with a passion for singing is welcome to join our choir. We do not have any specific requirements or restrictions.

Is there an age limit for joining the choir?Our choir is open singers ages 15 and older. Whether you are young or old, you are welcome to join us and share your love for music.

Do I have to attend Valleyview Bible Church to join the choir?No. Valleyview Bible has been kind enough to allow us to rehearse there but we are not affiliated with them. Everyone is welcome

Do I have to be a christian to join?No, we welcome everyone to participate.

When does the choir season start and end?Our choir season typically starts in September and ends in June. We have regular rehearsals and performances throughout the season.

What is the choir's mission?Our mission is to bring Gospel music back to the heart of culture, boldly and unapologetically, and to proclaim messages of healing and faith through our performances.

Where are rehearsals held?Currently, our rehearsals are held at Vallyview Bible Church at 2386 Trans Canada Hwy (Just behind the Nissan Dealership).

Can I invite friends or family to join too?Absolutely! We love welcoming new voices into our choir family. Anyone age 15 and above is welcome to join — whether they’re friends, family, or just someone who loves to sing gospel music. Invite them to come along and be part of the joy!

What is the rehearsal schedule?Our rehearsals are held every Monday evening from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Valleyview Bible Church. Please check our website for any changes to the schedule.

How long are rehearsals?Rehearsals are around 90 minutes.

What should I bring to rehearsals?Please bring a water bottle, a pencil for marking your music, and a positive attitude! Sheet music will be provided.

What is the dress code for rehearsals?We ask that you wear something comfortable.

What happens if I can't make it to every rehearsal?We understand that life happens! If you miss a rehearsal, please review your music and any practice tracks so you can catch up. Regular attendance helps the choir sound its best, but missing the occasional rehearsal won’t stop you from being part of performances.

Can I attend a rehearsal before joining?Yes, we have 2 open houses in September where you can attend with no commitment.

Are there any performance opportunities?Yes, we have several performance opportunities throughout the year, including concerts, community events, and church services.

How often does the choir perform?The choir performs several times throughout the year at various events, including concerts, community gatherings, and church services. Check our website for upcoming performance dates.

Do I have to perform at every perfomrance?We encourage members to sing at as many performances as possible, since that’s the highlight of being in the choir! That said, we understand if you occasionally need to miss one — just keep us informed and stay up to date with your music so you’re ready for the next concert.

Do you have a code of conduct?Yes, we do. Here it is: ✨ Victory Voices Gospel Choir – Code of Conduct As members of the Victory Voices Gospel Choir, we represent not only ourselves but also our choir family, our community, and the message of the Gospel. To ensure our choir remains a place of unity, joy, and ministry, all members agree to the following: 1. Kindness & Respect Treat one another with kindness, patience, and encouragement. Listen attentively during rehearsals and performances. Value the contributions of every member, regardless of skill level or background. 2. Language & Conduct Use language that is uplifting. Profanity, cursing, or offensive speech has no place in our choir. Avoid gossip, criticism, or behavior that could cause division. Conduct yourself in a way that reflects the love of Christ and honors the choir’s mission. 3. Dress & Appearance At rehearsals and performances, please dress modestly and conservatively. Performance attire may be directed by the choir leadership (robes, coordinated outfits, etc.). Remember that how we present ourselves reflects the spirit of the choir. 4. Commitment & Responsibility Attend rehearsals regularly and arrive on time. Practice your parts at home to contribute fully to the ensemble. Notify the director if you will be absent or late. 5. Representation of the Choir When participating in choir activities, remember you are an ambassador for Victory Voices Gospel Choir. Are there any fees to join the choir?Yes, there is a small membership fee to cover the costs of sheet music and other materials. Please check our website for the current fee structure.

If I decide to leave the choir, are my fees refundable?No, fees are non-refundable.

Is there a choir uniform?Yes, we have a choir uniform for performances. We wear burgandy and gold robes.

Do I need to buy music or robes?Your music is covered by the choir fees, so you don’t need to purchase it separately. As for robes, you may be asked to buy one, but we do our best to keep costs low and often work together to help cover those expenses when possible.

Can I volunteer to help with the choir?Yes, we welcome volunteers to help with various aspects of the choir, including event planning, marketing, and administrative tasks. Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering.
